What Is AI Skin Analysis?

AI skin analysis uses computer models to review visible patterns in skin photos. SkinDX turns those outputs into scores, classifications, area visualizations, and summaries for skincare education.

Based on the Sample Report5–8 min read
Interactive AI skin analysis overlay
The Sample Report compares the original photo with a visual analysis layer.

What does the system do?

The report first reviews image quality, including face ratio, hair occlusion, glasses, and yaw, pitch, and roll. It then evaluates supported visual patterns across facial areas.

Model outputs are normalized into a consistent interface so most users can start with summaries rather than raw data.

Why are there rectangles, masks, and overlays?

Rectangles locate individual findings. Masks show broader areas, while comparison sliders align the original photo with an analysis layer.

What does confidence score mean?

Confidence describes how strongly the model supports a classification. It is not medical certainty and does not automatically indicate that a condition is better or worse.

Skin-type classifications may each have a confidence value. The interface presents the leading classification in simpler language.

Use the result responsibly

  • Treat the result as a baseline, not a permanent label.
  • Compare photos taken under similar lighting and angles.
  • Look for patterns across several analyses rather than one score.
  • Patch-test skincare products and stop if irritation occurs.
  • Discuss concerning symptoms with a qualified professional.

Important note

SkinDX provides visual analysis for cosmetic and educational purposes. Results are not a medical diagnosis and do not replace consultation with a doctor or healthcare professional.
